Removing Pesticides from Fresh Produce

Unfortunately even eating healthy foods from nature doesn't guarantee you safe passage into vital, vibrant nutrition. Modern day farming methods require farmers to spray chemicals on their crops to protect it from bugs and insects. Removing these pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and chemicals is something that is important to do, especially if we have an illness, or small children to take care of.

Buy organic whenever you can, and I would even wash these foods.

Baking Soda Soak

Sodium bicarbonate degrades the pesticides on fresh produce, boosting the physical removal force of washing.

  • 4 tablespoons of baking soda to 5 glasses of water

  • 2.5 litres of water (purified if possible)

  • Soak 15-20 minues

  • Rinse

  • Dry thoroughly

While this may not remove all of the absorbed chemicals in an apple, for example, it will reduce the chemicals on the outside and reduce your body burden significantly.
