Identifying the Obstacles to your Health

When we understand that the body is a self-organising, self-modifying, self-healing, highly intelligent and capable organism, it can bring a sense of relief when things seem to be going wrong. Your body is always on your side, always seeking to move you toward a state of balance, so when things don't seem right, there is a reason.


Health is the body’s main priority at all times. Symptoms are sign that the body is trying to achieve something but it is obstructed for some reason. It needs to be our #1 priority to find what this is, to alllow support the body to restore homeostasis and calm itself.


Symptoms are not our enemy. They don't imply that the body is broken, rather they are the opposite - proof that the body is trying to right itself. The body is always communicating with us, bringing to our attention information about ourselves and what we need. Unfortunately, we have become under the impression that symptoms are a sign of the body’s incompetence. When we are able to tune in and identify what is going on, we are in a better position to support the body in its process of healing.


‘Obstacles to Health’ may involve:

Stress - Stress has a far-reaching physiological effect. It switches the nervous system over from ‘rest-digest-restore’ to ‘fight-flight-flee-freeze-hide’. The longer we stay in stress-mode, the less nourishing and healing our body can do. Identifying your primary sources of stress is the first step, because the way we think about these things, the story we tell ourselves, and the pictures we make in our heads determines the response our body will have. Sometimes identify how we wind ourselves up through our underlying beliefs can help a great deal.


Energy - is the product of the overflow of health. It is the first thing to go offline, and the last thing to come back. The quality of your energy determines the quality of your life. The right diet, nutrients, environment, clearance of blocked emotions, toxins, along with restoration of the energy field, is the recipe for resilient energy and a delicious sense of wellbeing.


Sleep - There is much to disturb our ability to move into a deep sleep state these days.  With so much t worry about each day, electricals are everywhere, emitting fields that interfere with our body’s own electrical function. Chronic stress, hormones, restlessness, frustrations, busy-mind, ruminating, and being tormented by all the things to be done … it’s no wonder sleep can be difficult. Medications, the wrong foods, eating late, stimulants, alcohol, weight gain, snoring, sleep apnoea, pain, inflammation, and discomfort … there is always a reason for sleep troubles.


Mood - Our emotional barometer - We carry our history in our body. How we feel on a daily basis brings insight into what is going on for us inside. Listening to our emotions, tuning in to the messages of the body, bring important insights to your healing process. Anxiety, depression, sadness, grief, fear, chlostrophobia, it is there for a reason. The body is on your side, seeking only ever to protect and keep you safe.


Immunity - when the body's resources get low immunity results. Stress depletes the body's ability to maintain and defend itself, and this makes you more vulnerable to lurgies and allergies. Boosting immunity with essential nutrients and herbs while releasing the stress pressure valve, help keep you well and sparkly.


Gut Health - stress switches off digestive function, as all available resources move to the muscles and defense systems. Low zinc and B vitamins also means low or no stomach acid production, which opens the way for gut bugs like helicobacter to thrive (stomach ulcer makers), and depletes absorption of essential nutrients like protein, minerals and essential fats. Foods are not what they once were, and out of stress and fatigue may be drawn to foods that are highly processed and capable of helping us 'self-medicate' with things that make us feel better in the short term, but worse in the long term.


Today we are challenged with increased incidences of cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, inflammatory diseases, immune disorders, stress-related illnesses, and depression. 

Human physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and anatomy are intricately interwoven and rely on nutritional factors for optimal function. These sessions help us tune in to what your body most needs to reset and heal itself. Once the corrective building blocks are supplied, and the obstacles to healing removed, you will soon start feeling much better, and more in control of your life in general.
